Hi guys,

This is part 4 of team building games, in the past 3 parts we introduce a few games and the ideas behind them, how to do them and what to learn from them. Enough introduction, Let’s play.

16- Save the gummy bear

Title tells it all, with 2 A4 paper, 4 x straw, tape and a bowl of water, each team should make a structure that can hold a gummy bear and save it from getting drowned.

Each team has only 4 gummy bears to try (you will notice that when these yummy gummies get wet no paper can hold them). So it is all about failure.

Usually we do not count the cost of failure, in many teams failure is a value, “Fail Fast” is one good motto for a team. From each of them we will learn something, but we should know that shots are not unlimited, we cannot afford lots of failure.

So in this game also, the team will learn after their failure that as they have limited resources, they should be more careful and use what they learnt from the previous one to increase their success chance.

This is a funny game and the winning team will get the ultimate prize, 1KG haribo.

17- Tower of cups

This is a very famous teamwork game. We need a few plastic cups, elastic bands and a few meters of slim rope. This is the best team work example.

You can learn from the above image to what you need to do. The task is to build a tower of these cups. remember each line should be about 1 meter, longer lines make this game harder.

Each team has 15 minute to build the tallest tower they can.

18- Write your name

Do you know how to write your name? for sure you do. It is very easy, even if you want to write it on a big paper which is taped to the floor with a marker. everyone can. BUT, can we write it together?

For each member of the team, tie a thread, or very slim rope to a marker. This part is very similar to the above game, each member should get to the end of one line and together they should write a word on the floor.

This is far harder than making a tower of cups. believe me. and it is all about teamwork.

19- Farting balloons

Have you ever blown a balloon and let it fly away? such a funny noise it makes. Now with help of its energy we should drive and navigate a table tennis ball (ping point ball) to a certain point.

if you remember on game #13 (in part 3) we have a similar game but with straw which is far easy to control the strength of the flow. Now we will do the same but with the force of wind that comes out of the balloon.

The fun part of this game is that a simple mistake can make all the balls go away from the center of the target. try it. it is fun.

20- Tarp Game

There are many names for this game, fold the blanket, flip the tarp, … but the ideas are the same, icebreaking.

It does not need much description, ask the team to stand on a blanket, they should fold it as much as they can but every one should be (both feet) on the blanket. It is also another team work which everyone should be involved in and it is a great game for ice-breaking. try it.

This was part 4 of the team building games series. I will come back with the next part soon. mean time keep me writing what you have tried and what you have learned.
